Life In The Big Bend Of The Ohio River Cincinnati, Ohio and Beyond
The blog of our family and or my events in my life. Some is related to my numerous jobs as well as travels, events, documentary photography. I enjoy using natural light for my photographs. You will find places like Anderson Ferry, Rowe Woods or area attractions around Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
In the summer of 2019 we took a cruise on the Celebrity Equinox Cruise Liner. It is a nice ship and we visited several islands on our south Dutch Caribbean Island cruise trip. Bonaire was one of the 5 places we were to stop. Sadly we missed the Grand Cayman Islands due to bad weather conditions, high winds.
Bonaire was a great island to visit and I wish we had more time. I hope some day to sail here with an old boss Charlie Wright so he can show us his favorite scuba spots on the Bonaire reefs. It was one stop on what was a great relaxing vacation.
For almost 23 years I had days where I would take the Anderson Ferry to and from where I worked. I started taking the ferry further back when traveling around Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The Anderson Ferry is the westside short cut to CVG Great Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Ohio River Sunrise Crossings
The Anderson Ferry runs two ferries at peak hours in the morning and for evening rush hour. Most of the day from 6AM till 9:45PM the Anderson Ferry carries cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicyclist and foot traffic since 1817 between Constance Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio Many mornings during my commute I would cross as the sun was rising over the Ohio river. Often allowing mid Ohio river sunrise captures.
I miss my early and sometimes evening rides to and from work. There is something special and calming when riding the Anderson Ferry most of the time. Weather can always make the commute interesting. I still keep in touch with the workers and plan to do some morning and evening photography there when I am not in a rush to work.
I know they will be waiting for me since they have been since 1817
We took a cruise vacation as the polar vortex was beginning o set in across the USA. Our flight out of CVG was the morning temps started to drop quickly. Our cruise was on the new cruise ship Celebrity Edge which was a new design of Celebrity cruise ships.
Celebrity Edge – Eden
Eden is in the rear of the cruise ship Celebrity Edge. I liked it best at night when it was dark and relaxing light and music. The upper area of Celebrity Edge Eden is a lounge and bar area. Here you often see some performances by Eden entertainment. Below this area is where the dinning room is located the servers / entertainers interact while you dine.
Celebrity Edge – Eden at Night
During evening hours Eden is a magical place of lights, color, and mode allows visitors to relax and watch or then can often join others on the lounge stage. The upper area is where I spent most of my time. It was a long ramp that snakes up the back of Celebrity Edge Eden.
Celebrity Edge – Eden Bar and Lounge
If you take a cruise of the Celebrity Edge you need to visit Eden at some time during the cruise. I suggest evenings or night, it is nice there any time of day. It is a fun place to relax and take a nap.
